In my initial Out the Mud CFB25 Dynasty post (which also details its setup if you haven’t seen that yet), I wrote that while we were winning Heisman Trophies and making the College Football Playoffs in seasons one and two, we weren’t yet winning national championships. That time is over, with Tulsa and Navy each winning a national championship in year 3 and 4 over North Texas and UTSA. From here on out, it’s likely that a user will win the natty every year, which ramps up the competition even more. Additionally, most of the league is moving on to both greener pastures and head coaching jobs, with nearly half of the league now with a different school than they started with, and a third of the league now head coaches. After year 5, I fully expect the majority of the league to be both head coaches and at a different school than they started with. The peak of the dynasty is soon to come.
But before that, let’s look at how the dynasty has stacked up so far.
Top Users in Seasons 3 and 4
Knight/Navy
In my recap of seasons one and two, I wrote that “While I’m not ready to declare 2026 as Navy’s “we’re back season”, I am editing the freshman QBs name to Roger Staubach, so he will certainly be under some day one pressure.” After a middling start, with only a 15-12 record over two years, I’m happy to report that Staubach met that pressure head on, leading Navy to a 2027 National Championship and throwing for more yards and touchdowns than any other player over the last two seasons. Navy has also compiled a 26-5 record and two CFP appearances in that time, making them an easy choice for #1 in the last two seasons.
Pdad/Tulsa
Pdad became the first user to win the league, racking up a 14-1 record and taking down North Texas in the national championship. Tulsa’s star player also won the Heisman, with super speed sophomore wide receiver Joshua Smith putting up more than 2000 yards and 30 touchdowns. After that star-studded season, Tulsa promptly retired, dropping the mic before the concert even started for most of the league. We wish him the best in his other exploits (Madden).
Skii/UTSA
No user has a better record over the last two seasons than Skii, racking up 26 wins and only 4 losses, along with two CFP appearances and a runner-up finish in 2027. Skii also won the Heisman with his star receiver in 2027, and UTSA has earned nine, yes nine, award winners over the last two seasons. There’s not a better user in the league at ensuring his players get the recognition they deserve.
Top Users Overall
Skii/UTSA
In addition to his excellent last two seasons, Skii has also been the best (remaining) user so far, racking up a record of 43-12 record over the first four seasons for a 78% winning percentage. Factor in his national runner-up, 2 CFP appearances, 2 conference championships, 8 award winners, and 4 All-Americans, and no user has matched his combination of team and personal success.
Y2K/North Texas/Michigan
While Skii and UTSA have been the best so far, Y2K is right on their heels, putting together a 48-14 record for a 77% winning percentage. Y2K has also either matched Skii in team success, with a national runner-up finish, 2 CFP appearances, or exceeded him, with his dynasty-best three conference championships. North Texas has also earned a wide variety of personal recognition, with a Heisman-winning receiver, four award winners, and three All-Americans. This success didn’t go unnoticed, with Y2K accepting the Head Coach position at Michigan after the 2027 season, becoming the first dynasty member to become a HC at a five star program.
Dash/Marshall
By record, nobody has been more consistent than Dash, winning exactly 10 or 11 games in each of the first four seasons. While Dash hasn’t found much postseason success, Marshall players did earn lots of personal recognition under his leadership, with a dynasty-best five All-Americans. Dash also been the best recruiter so far, putting together the top user recruiting class twice, and finishing just behind the other two years. This mixture of success and consistency was rewarded after 2027, with Dash accepting the head coach position at UCLA.
Coaching Carousel
Y2K: North Texas > Michigan (Head Coach)

Brolic: Arkansas State > Tulane (Head Coach)

Zod: Nevada > South Carolina (Head Coach)

Feature Team of the Year - Liberty
No team or user shone brighter to start the dynasty than Scruff and Liberty, racking up a 23-5 record and a year one CFP appearance. However, after some non-sportsmanlike behavior resulted in the forfeit of a game in year three, the Flames have struggled to recover their previous success, dropping to 8-5 in 2026 and 5-7 in 2027. But, man, is help on the way. Liberty not only has the best user player in the dynasty with 95 overall linebacker Nate Pinckney… but Pinckney is a sophomore. With that demon in the middle, and as well as a 99 speed linebacker and one of the most talented secondaries in the country, Liberty’s defensive flame should shine bright this year. But it doesn’t stop there.
Liberty is led on offense by 88 overall junior quarterback Niles Pead. Pead has elite speed (97), acceleration (96), and change-of-direction (99), with a cannon for an arm (93 throw power). With a solid offensive line and weapons around him, Pead should be able to lead one of the best offenses in the country, if Scruff can stop throwing picks.
Overall, the Flames should easily be the most entertaining to watch in 2027, and with two of the best players in all of college football, will look to recapture some of their early dynasty success.
Navy Year 5 Outlook
I’m sad to report that this will probably be the last edition of this section focused on Navy, as I’ll look to move to the head coaching ranks at the end of this season (and it’s apparently impossible to get your own school’s HC job). However, before leaving, I do intend on trying to send Staubach out with either another national championship, a Heisman trophy, or both. Now entering his junior season, Staubach is somehow still only a 77 overall, despite all of his success, so the NFL is anything but guaranteed. Add in the fact that Navy has now joined the ranks of the SEC and will face off against all of the top-tier users and CPUs each week, and the path will certainly be challenging. However, Navy has stacked some of the best user recruiting classes in the dynasty over the last few seasons, and should have a much improved defense, even if the offensive weapons aren’t quite at an elite level.
Onward, Midshipmen.
As always, thanks for reading, and let’s get “Out The Mud”
